About Us
Tripoli United Kingdom is Prefecture #108 of the Tripoli Rocketry Association. The Tripoli UK Prefecture covers the complete United Kingdom: England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and other territories.
The UK prefecture was originally set up by Ben Jarvis, when he and Antony Barton passed their Tripoli certifications at the International Rocket Week in Scotland. They were the first rocketeers to certify outside of North America.

Our members come from all across the UK (and some from overseas), and attend High Power Rocketry events in many countries including the UK, USA and Switzerland. Membership of Tripoli UK is not restricted to UK subjects or residents, but is open to any High Power Rocketeer who wishes to fly in the UK or with other Tripoli UK members at overseas events.
The priority for Tripoli UK is to cooperate with UKRA, BMFA and local rocketry clubs, to promote rocketry in the UK. Tripoli UK shall not compete with UKRA or any other rocketry organisation, but complement their activities. It shall achieve this by providing members with insurance etc. for Tripoli sanctioned events, and aid members wishing to fly:
- High Performance rockets not suitable for UK launch sites
- Motors larger than M-class
- Motors only legal for use in other countries
Tripoli UK is not biased in any way, so will support any law-abiding member safely flying rockets with any Tripoli certified motor, including motors certified by other organisations with which Tripoli has cross recognition.
